John G. Polkinghorne, DDS
Dr. John has been working in dentistry for almost 40 years now, and he’s certainly honed the art of creating healthy, beautiful smiles for the people of Edmond and surrounding neighborhoods in that time. He studied at one of the country’s finest dental school facilities at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry and then worked as an associate of Dr. William (Bill) Lockard. Over the years, he studied with several more of the greatest dentists of our time, including the late Dr. Henry Tanner, Dr. Ronald Presswood, Dr. William (Bill) McHorris, the porcelain veneer pioneer Dr. Bob Nixon, and Dr. Newton Fahl. Today, he is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Oklahoma Dental Association. His favorite part of his job is working alongside such a great team!
Our Story
Welcome to the Edmond, OK dental practice of John G. Polkinghorne, DDS. We love working with patients to offer outstanding dental care that exceeds even the highest patient expectations. In fact, Dr. Polkinghorne is so well known that local professionals often rely on him to provide dental restorations for their implant supported tooth replacement solutions. Our Team
Lisa, Patient Coordinator
Lisa Elm is proud to be a member of Dr. John’s team as the patient coordinator. Lisa’s background is in office management and customer service, but her passion is in helping others. She has volunteered for many organizations over the years including patrolling with the Guardian Angels in New York City, Toledo, Detroit, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Chicago, Madison, Houston and Dallas; helping raise tens of thousands of dollars for Make-A-Wish foundation; and currently riding with Ride Oklahoma Charities raising money through charity motorcycle events (She gets to ride a motorcycle and help people….It’s a win-win!).
Lisa has also spent a lot of time in dentist chairs over the years, so she can empathize with the customers she serves. Lisa says she looks forward to working with clients to make their experience here the best it can be!
Courtney, Dental Hygienist
Courtney worked for our office in 2001 prior to becoming a dental hygienist. She rejoined our team in 2016. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 with a bachelor of science in dental hygiene. She has also received additional training from the Academy of Laser dentistry.
Courtney is married to Brandon. They have 2 girls, Everett and Saylor. Fun fact, Saylor was our office baby for the first 8 months of her life! They also have a dog named Oakley, a miniature schnauzer. Outside of the office she enjoys traveling, exercising and spending time with family and friends.
Marsha, Dental Assistant
Marsha is a Woodward OK native who made Edmond her home in 2019. She has 32 years experience in dentistry. Marsha also assisted with the Oklahoma Dental Foundation’s mobile dental unit which delivers dental services to under served rural areas.
Marsha has 4 children and 1 grandson who knows her as Suga Nana. Spending time with Cameron is always top of the list. Her other interests include books of all genres, coffee with or without friends but always better with, her furry friends, and quiet time in the sun.
